Updated to 4 stars in May 2025 following the addition of a centre airbag, driver monitoring system, and improved collision avoidance across all variants. Applies to vehicles built from 30 April 2025 (VIN LSJWP4U92SZ204415 onwards).

Two separate ANCAP ratings apply to the MG5. Vehicles built prior to November 2024 hold a zero-star rating. MG upgraded the safety specification from November 2024 — confirm the build date of the specific vehicle you are considering with our sales team before purchasing.
The MG Cyberster has not yet received an ANCAP rating in Australia. It is equipped with dual frontal airbags, AEB, and lane assist as standard. We will update this page when a rating is published.
